Scratchy 4x4 to Odlins road all the way to the north east end (snowy hut, by snowy river).
the first part of Odlins is interesting with some cross axle steps to crawl, then a "ramp" that needs winch 20% of the time....we will pass the Renata hut park intersection, (from here focus and experience count) we will pass the slip, the river climb, reach Waiotauru hut by mid day, keep going to the north east end in direction of snowy river, it's very overgrown, the road hasn't been used in ages, will be back to the Waiotauru hut late afternoon/night, stay at Waiotauru hut and drive down back the next day
the hut is recently new built, so is clean, tidy and cosy, there are 3 bunks inside the hut, large wooden floor space to put sleeping bags or camp spaces out side, there is a drop toilet near by. no potable water but river near by.
